Colony Farms

Located besides the Lougheed Hwy there is this large plot of land that separates the highway from the residential area. This is Colony Farms which contains interpretive walks/hike which is ideal for children and elderly individuals. There are also biking trails, wildlife viewing, community gardens, and is considered a Wildlife Reserve.

With even more research, Colony Farms was established in 1910. It provide residents of Riverview Hospital with diary and fresh vegetable, as well it was a source of recreational therapy through the maintenance of the gardens. Reminisce of the old farm are present such as the water tower, bunkhouse, and old log fence.
