Pacific Rim National Park

Pacific Rim National Park, Long Beach Unit
Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, May 15 - 18, 2006

Because we made it to Green Point before the May long weekend we were able to come without reservations. After staying there I understand why reservations are needed; it's a beautiful national campsite where you can choose a spot above the beach. We decided to stay four days. This gave us a base camp and plenty of time to discover the park.

We hiked almost every trail and even visited Grice Bay, which was nothing much except for a 60year old guy in a canoe paddled across the bay to the Indian Island, we were quite impressed.

If you don't have much time to visit make sure to at least stop by the Wickaninnish Interpretive Centre. You not only learn about the artifacts, wildlife, plant species on Vancouver Island, but also protects you from the never ending winds.
