Harrison
British Columbia, August 2006

Located 90 to 120 mins east from the lower mainland, Harrison is a great day trip. Bring your swim suit, sun screen, cold drinks and hang at the beach until sun sets at Harrison Lake.

Harrison is most well known for it's hot springs. Unfortunately most people don't realize that the hot springs are not free. You will find it in the Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa and some of the hot spring water is pumped into the public swimming pool. There is a fee to use the springs in both locations.

If you are just interested in putting your foot in the hot water and seeing where the source comes from, follow the trail west of the resort and you will come to a building that houses the water. There is a brief history plaque on the building and an area just behind the unit that pumps some of the water out. Unless the pipe has been closed, there you'll experience the natural hot spring for free!
