Riverview Mental Hospital Located just off the Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam is the Riverview Mental Hospital. It's been open since April 1, 1913 and continues to provide highly specialized mental health services to the most seriously mentally ill patients in British Columbia. The land that the hospital is on spans along the Lougheed Highway. With over fifty buildings occupy 254 acres of land, Riverview is a community all to its self. Even though some of the buildings are no longer in use for the patients, you will sometimes see spotlights and trailers outside where they are using the building for movies. |
